    Georgia General Contractor License (NASCLA)

    with the unlimited designation is permitted to do any type of construction work and to bid on any type of contracts. The exam for this license is the NASCLA which is accepted in multiple states. The trades exam in accepted in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, U.S. Virgin Islands, and West Virginia. One test, covers 16 states!

    Georgia General Contractor State Requirements & Application

    *Any prime contractor or sub contractor working on projects where the cost of labor and materials is more than $2,500 is required to have the appropriate license.

    * Only the General Contractor license has a minimum net worth requirement. The minimum net worth for a GC unlimited is $150,000 and a GC Limited Tier must have a minimum net worth of $25,000. The limited tier license is only for contracts $1,000,000 or less.

    * The General Contractor must have at least $500,000 worth of general liability insurance.

    * Must have at least four years of proven active experience, or a four year degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management.
