Arizona Contractor License Exam Prep For Residential and Commercial Builders

License Classifications Overview

  • B General Residential Contractor: Construction and repair of residential structures
  • B-3 General Remodeling and Repair Contractor: Remodeling and repairing existing residential structures
  • B-1 General Commercial Contractor: Construction and alteration of large commercial structures.
  • B-2 General Small Commercial Contractor: Commercial projects valued at $2,000,000 or less.
  • KB-1 Dual Building Contractor & KB-2 Residential and Small Commercial KB-2 Commercial projects valued at $2,000,000 or less.

Combined Exams

The Arizona Registrar of Contractors (ROC) has simplified licensing by combining exams for specific classifications:

  • B, B-3, CR-61: Now require a single, combined exam. Passing this exam qualifies you for any of these licenses.
  • B-1, B-2, KB-1, KB-2: These classifications also share a single, combined exam for licensing.

Commercial/KB Dual

Commercial Contractor or KB Dual "Includes Residential"

Specialized exam preparation materials for Commercial B-1, B-2 Small Commercial or KB Dual contractors. KB-1 or KB-2 Dual licensing is a Commercial and Residential Builder.

The B-1, B-2, KB-1, KB-2 exams have been combined into one exam. Whichever of those classifications you want to obtain, you will take this new combined exam
