Nevada

Nevada has many different licenses. We cover the B - General BuildingB-2 Residential Small Commercial licenses. The NASCLA exam can be taken instead of the B or B-2 exam to cover the trades exam requirement for either license.

The B - General Building license can do commercial and residential work, while the B-2 Residential Small Commercial license can do small commercial and residential work. Small commercial work limits commercial projects to no more than 3 stories above the ground and 1 story below the ground.

In Nevada, a license is required for any job over $500.

Nevada General Contractor (NASCLA)

The Nevada B General Contractor's license allows the builder to bid on, build, or modify any type or size of commercial or residential property. The B-2 license allows for residential and small commercial. NASCLA can be used for either license, but to get the B - General Building license, the applicant must have high rise experience.

There are two required exams: the NASCLA commercial trades exam and the Nevada Contractor Management Survey (Business & Law) exam. Once you pass the NASCLA exam, your passing score can also be used in other states to get commercial GC licenses. For a current list of states that accept NASCLA: Click Here
