Ready to earn your Arkansas Residential Journeyman Electrician license? Our pre-highlighted, tabbed exam prep course is built to get you through the state exam on your first attempt — focused entirely on residential electrical work.
The Arkansas Residential Journeyman Electrician license is issued by the Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board (ACLB) and authorizes you to perform electrical work specifically on residential structures — single-family homes, duplexes, and similar dwelling types — under the supervision of a licensed Residential Master Electrician.
This license is the residential-specific counterpart to the commercial Journeyman license. If your focus is home electrical work — new construction wiring, panel upgrades, rewiring, and residential service installations — the Residential Journeyman is the right license to pursue. It's also a natural stepping stone toward the Arkansas Residential Master Electrician license.
Applicants must have verifiable experience in residential electrical work to qualify. Contact the Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board to confirm current experience requirements before applying.

All applicants must complete a background check as part of the licensing process.
