What Is the Arkansas Master Electrician License?
The Arkansas Master Electrician license is the highest-level electrical license issued by the Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board (ACLB). It authorizes you to perform commercial and industrial electrical work of any scope, pull permits, supervise Journeyman Electricians, and operate your own electrical contracting business in Arkansas.
This is the license serious electricians pursue when they're ready to take full ownership of their career — whether that means running their own shop, bidding larger commercial jobs, or stepping into a supervisory role on complex projects. Passing the Master Electrician exam is the gateway to all of it.

About the Arkansas Master Electrician Exam
The Arkansas Master Electrician exam is an open-book test covering the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Arkansas-specific electrical statutes. It goes deeper than the Journeyman exam, testing your knowledge of more complex systems and your ability to supervise and manage electrical work. Topics include:
- Advanced NEC wiring methods, calculations, and code applications
- Commercial and industrial electrical systems
- Service entrance, feeders, and branch circuit design
- Load calculations and electrical system planning
- Arkansas contractor licensing laws and regulations
Because the exam is open-book, knowing how to navigate your NEC quickly is just as important as understanding the content. Our pre-highlighted books and tab sets are built to save you time during the exam — every mark is there for a reason.
