Apply with the North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors (NCBEEC). Start here: NCBEEC – Official Website.
NCBEEC reviews your application and qualifies your exam(s) based on license type (Electrical Contractor or Fire Alarm/Low Voltage). Once approved, you’ll receive instructions to test with PSI.
After approval, schedule your Trade and (if required) Business/Law exams at PSI: PSI – Test Takers. Select the North Carolina Electrical program to view current exams and bulletins.
Pass the required PSI exams, then submit any remaining documents, fees, and insurance to NCBEEC to activate your license.
