Oklahoma Limited Electrical License Overview

The Oklahoma Limited Electrical license is issued by the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board (CIB) and authorizes contractors to perform electrical work within defined project scope and value limits. It is the entry-level electrical contractor license in Oklahoma, sitting below the Unlimited Electrical license in the state's licensing structure.

The Limited license is well-suited for contractors focused on smaller residential and light commercial installations. Contractors who need to take on larger commercial and industrial projects without restrictions should pursue the Unlimited Electrical license instead. Contact the Oklahoma CIB to confirm current project scope and value thresholds before applying.
