Ready to earn your Oklahoma Residential Electrical license? Our pre-highlighted, tabbed exam prep course is built to get you through the state exam on your first attempt — with everything you need to get licensed for residential electrical work in Oklahoma.
Oklahoma Residential Electrical License Overview
The Oklahoma Residential Electrical license is issued by the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board (CIB) and authorizes contractors to perform electrical work on residential structures — single-family homes, duplexes, and similar dwellings. It is a separate license track from the Limited and Unlimited electrical contractor licenses, specifically scoped to residential work.
If your focus is residential electrical contracting — new home construction wiring, panel upgrades, service installations, and home rewiring — this is your required credential in Oklahoma. Contractors who want to work on commercial or industrial projects will need to pursue the Limited or Unlimited electrical contractor license instead.
