All Georgia General Contractors must also carry at least $500,000 in general liability insurance, regardless of tier.

What are the Georgia General Contractor license fees?

Application and licensing fees paid to the Georgia Professional Licensing Board:

New prime contractor license: $300 application fee.

Renewal: $200.

New subcontractor license: $150 application fee.

The NASCLA exam fee ($130) is paid separately to NASCLA when registering for the exam.

Does Georgia accept NASCLA exam results from contractors licensed in other states?

Yes. The NASCLA Accredited Examination is accepted by 17 jurisdictions including Georgia, so passing the NASCLA Commercial Building Contractor exam once qualifies you to apply for the trades portion of contractor licensing in all NASCLA-participating states. You still need to complete each state's separate application, business law exam, and financial and insurance requirements.
