Louisiana Electrical Contractor Licensing Overview

Louisiana electrical contractors are licensed through the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors (LSLBC). The state requires electricians to pass a trade exam and, in most cases, a business and law exam before a license is issued. Exams are open-book and based on the National Electrical Code (NEC).

Louisiana offers electrical contractor licenses at multiple levels — from journeyman to master — covering both commercial/industrial and residential electrical work. Browse our courses and books below to find the right prep materials for your specific exam.
