Content Area # of Items Site Work, Footings and Foundations 13 Concrete and Concrete Reinforcement 9 Masonry 5 Carpentry 15 Associated Trades and Drywall 6 Roofing 7 Estimating, Plan Reading and General Code Requirements 18 OSHA Safety 7 Louisiana Residential Building Contractors Reciprocity
The LSLBC offers reciprocity for applicants who have already passed an equivalent contractor licensing exam in another state. If an applicant holds a classification that required an exam elsewhere — and that exam was passed without waivers, exemptions, or grandfathering — the LSLBC may accept that exam for reciprocity. The exam will be accepted for a comparable Louisiana classification determined by the Board. All other licensing requirements still apply, including documentation reviews and the investigation of any current or prior violations.
