    State Requirements & Application

    • Anyone engaged in construction-related contracting in New Mexico must be licensed.
    • The New Mexico Business and Law exam is required to obtain your contractor's license in New Mexico, along with your trades exam.
    • Pre-Approval is required to sit for the exam, with approval taking an average of 7 business days.
